The team at Gatehouse Property Management are highly qualified and have held senior and director roles at national firms. Between them, they have a vast amount of experience in all commercial property sectors especially in shopping centres and dealing with retail and corporate occupiers providing strategic and asset management advice. The surveying team works in partnership with a dedicated finance team led by a client accountant with support provided by credit control and purchase ledger colleagues. In addition, pro-active facilities and centre managers are on the ground with their respective teams focusing on customer service.
Property Director
Stuart is a qualified Chartered Surveyor and established the Group in 2001.
He formerly worked in private practice as a property consultant for Chesterton, Eric Young & Co and Hamilton Glen.
Director of Property and Asset Management
Stephen is a chartered surveyor who has over 30 years commercial property experience. He has held head of department roles at national surveying firms, looking after a variety of property types for various clients. He has a particular specialism in the management, set up and running of shopping centres. He has proven expertise in maximising income and minimising outgoings by applying innovative ways to make centres run more efficiently, restructuring site teams and undertaking promotions. He also gives strategic asset management advice, overseeing lettings and negotiating lease renewals with tenants at centres across the UK.
Stephen is responsible for the delivery of the property and asset management functions across the portfolio.
Finance Director
A qualified accountant, David joined the Group in 2019 to lead the Finance team, originally joining as Group Financial Controller before becoming Finance Director in 2024. He has over a decade of experience within the property management sector, working for a number of national and international clients as well as working on behalf of large UK pension funds. David previously worked as a Fund Accountant for First Property, where he was responsible for the day-to-day finance function of the UK commercial property funds. Prior to that role, he worked for Savills on their largest property management instruction after starting his career at Countrywide.
Senior Asset Manager
Stuart is an experienced Asset Manager and Chartered Surveyor with depth of track record in the UK commercial real estate sector and takes pride in adding value and providing a high-quality service for clients.
Stuart’s career started in commercial agency at Montagu Evans followed by senior roles such as Senior Asset Manager at Aberdeen Investments where Stuart asset managed complex commercial real estate portfolios. Stuart has overseen acquisitions, disposals and major capex and development projects and has extensive experience in investor engagement and reporting. Laterally Stuart established Spey Asset Consulting to provide bespoke advisory asset management and consultancy services to Clients in the commercial real estate sector.
Working with Gatehouse Property Management as a Consultant Senior Asset Manager, on behalf of Belgate Estates, Stuart is specialising in Shopping Centre assets. He helps to define and implement clear asset strategies, driving value and increasing NOI by delivering on key leasing initiatives and on more strategic value-add repositioning initiatives. Stuart also provides detailed financial appraisals and analysis to assist decision making.
Asset Manager
Donald Syme is a Chartered Surveyor with over 30 years of experience in the commercial property sector, he has built a reputation for delivering high-level results across retail and leisure agency, development, and asset management. Donald began his career at Graham & Sibbald in Glasgow before holding senior roles at firms including Griffin Webster, Cushman & Wakefield and CWM. In 2015, he established Syme Property Consultancy as his own consultancy to offer more personalised, expert-led services to landlords, developers, and investors.
Acting as a Consultant Asset Manager to Gatehouse Property Management, Donald focuses on the Shopping Centre assets providing strategic asset plans to set key targets and objectives, stakeholder engagement, new lettings, lease renewals, regears & rent reviews. Other responsibilities include development strategy and financial appraisals, day-to-day engagement with centre management and property management teams and key occupiers.

Lyndsay joined the group in 2020 with experience working in a managerial role within the lettings and sales sector.
Senior Property Manager
Gillian de Almeida is a chartered surveyor who has over 25 years commercial property experience. Originally starting in the administration/secretarial field, working in many different areas of property, she studied part-time and received an Honours degree from the University College of Estate Management, later becoming chartered with the RICS. She has worked in property management for over 12 years, managing mixed portfolios of retail, office and industrial properties.
She excels in building strong tenant relationships, optimising operational efficiency, and driving value through proactive maintenance, lease management, and long‑term strategic planning. Known for her calm leadership and solutions‑focused approach, Gillian consistently delivers high‑quality service that supports occupier satisfaction and maximises commercial returns for clients and stakeholders.

Kieran joined the team in December 2021 having previously been Purchase Ledger at City Facilities Management (UK) and Purchase Ledger at Norbulk Shipping UK.

25 years of Retail experience, 17 of which as an Area Manager for Luxury Designer Furniture and well-known high-street fashion retailers, in addition to General Manager roles for Debenhams, The Range & New Look.

A qualified bookkeeper, I have 3 years experience working in accounts and finance departments before joining the group in 2026. Previous to this role I worked at M&Ds Scotland’s theme park for a year and a half, and before that working in property management and short term lets with Pillow Partners gaining experience in all parts of the accounts function in both roles.
